The plate is removed to find an old and abused soundboard. Among other things, this piano could have used a custom grand piano string cover for added protection.
Routers, sharpened chisels and a mallet are skillfully used to separate the old board from the case.
The old board and bridges are now removed. Bridge patterns will be made from the originals. Careful measurements have been taken so that all newly manufactured work will be perfectly installed.
Cleaning the inner rim of old materials to make for a clean installation of the new soundboard.
